Ever since she made her debut as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, Gal Gadot has been a mainstay of the DC Extended Universe. Since then, the actress has made multiple appearances in movies produced by DC, including two Wonder Woman solo movies and the renowned Justice League movies. Gadot has subsequently moved to Disney, where she will play the Evil Queen Grimhilde in the live-action adaptation of the beloved animated fairy tale Snow White, in addition to playing a significant role in the larger DCEU. Wonder Woman makes an appearance in the DCEU sequel Shazam: Fury of the Gods, according to new footage from the Zachary Levi-starring sequel. At this year's CinemaCon in Las Vegas, new footage from was presented. Shazam, one of the most iconic DC Comics heroes of all time, made his big screen debut in 2019. The first Shazam! film, directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi as Billy Batson, follows the story of a young Billy Batson who gains godlike powers that activate anytime he screams Shazam, transforming him into an adult superhero. But it was also Billy's journey of acceptance of his new family, as much as it was a heroic origin story. According to reports, DC is planning major changes to become more like Marvel Studios. Warner Bros. appears to be at least beginning to show hints of being on the right road with its DC franchises. In recent years, the studio's super-powered attempts on the big and small screens have been the brunt of numerous jokes; but, the tide is turning. More recent DC adaptations, such as The Batman, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker, have all received mainly excellent reviews, indicating that things may be going brighter. And if this upward trend continues, DCEU supporters may finally have something to look forward to.
