Kylian Mbappe is world's most valuable footballer

According to the Swiss research company CIES Football Observatory, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is the most valued soccer player in the world, followed by Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr and new Manchester City recruit Erling Haaland.

Mbappe, who passed down Real and signed a new three-year agreement with PSG last month, was ranked first on the list with an estimated transfer value of €205.6 million, ahead of Vinicius (€185.3 million) and Haaland (€152.6 million).

Neymar, Mbappe's PSG teammate, currently owns the transfer record. In 2017, the French champions paid Barcelona €222 million for his signature.

Pedri (€135.1 million) of Barcelona and Jude Bellingham (€133.7 million) of Borussia Dortmund completed the top five.

To calculate a transfer value, the CIES Football Observatory considers factors such as the player's age, performance, career advancement, and contract length.

Premier League players topped the latest ranking, with 41 players making the top 100.

Ruben Dias of Manchester City had the highest transfer value for a defender at €109.6 million, while Gianluigi Donnarumma of PSG had the highest transfer value for a goalkeeper at €73.7 million.

With a valuation of €57.3 million, City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, 30, was the oldest player on the list.
