Discover Why Early Blue Beetle Box Office Projections Have DC Fans Concerned

Image
Anticipations for a grand cinematic success aren't running high for DC Studios ' forthcoming release, the Blue Beetle movie. According to reports from Deadline, the film's opening weekend is projected to rake in a mere $30 million at the box office—a notably lackluster and underwhelming initiation for a new superhero cinematic venture. This particular outcome would position Blue Beetle as DC's most lackluster performer at the box office during its opening weekend this year. As a point of reference, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, debuting earlier in the year, managed to secure $30.5 million during its initial weekend, while The Flash surged ahead with an impressive $55 million. It's worth recollecting that even The Suicide Squad experienced a less favorable opening, amassing a mere $26 million. The absence of astonishment regarding these figures is palpable, yet a gratifying astonishment could arise should the movie manage to secure a more auspicious opening weekend. The ...

Black Panther has been voted the best superhero movie of all time, and Zack Snyder fans are not happy

Image
Oscar-winning Marvel outing Black Panther was voted the best superhero movie of all time. And Zack Snyder fans are not happy. Rolling Stone's list of the 50 best superhero movies was definitely controversial, with Black Panther coming in at number one while it was placed in the top 50. But that's not why fans are shaking their heads. No, when the list was first shared, Zack Snyder's Justice League was at the top, and the publication shared the list in reverse order. Probably by accident. While Zack Snyder's Justice League now has a very dedicated fan base, the first Top 10 included such ... questionable comic book movies as 2007's Ghost Rider , 1975's Infra-Man , the first Thor and 2010's Megamind . Now that the list is set in the right direction, the actual top ten makes a lot more sense, with Black Panther leading a pack that includes the likes of Spider-Man 2, the first Superman from 1978, and Christopher Nolan's seminal Batman film. The Dark Knig...

Image

These expansive universes, filled with rich characters and thrilling storylines, have captured the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. Recently, Marc Guggenheim, one of the co-creators of the Arrowverse, has made headlines by suggesting that Marvel Studios should 'prune' the MCU. In this blog post, we'll delve into what this 'pruning' means, why Guggenheim has proposed it, and whether it could be a beneficial move for the MCU. In the context of the MCU, Guggenheim's suggestion of 'pruning' implies a deliberate and strategic culling of certain characters, story arcs, or even entire franchises to streamline and strengthen the overall narrative....

Hollywood talent rep Claims, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO poisoned the DCEU well

Image
Hollywood talent agents now view the DCEU as a poisoned brand as a result of multiple bad choices made by WBD CEO David Zaslav. The CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, may be doing more damage to the DC Extended Universe than good, according to a Hollywood talent rap. One important talent agent told The Hollywood Reporter that  "Zaslav doesn't know what he doesn't know. That's scary. And you're always going to be compared to Marvel. It's unfair. By the time they were being judged, it was working. It's the exact opposite at Warner. It's rough all around. Who the fuck would want that job?" As Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe at Disney, WBD is now developing "a 10-year plan focusing just on DC". Zaslav is also looking for someone to fill the role of DC's Feige, but he has had trouble finding somebody willing to take it on. According to sources, Zaslav is looking for  "someone ...

Batman's New Origin Shows He May Have Been the Worst Criminal in Gotham

Bruce Wayne transformed an unimaginably painful experience into the vigilante hero Batman after seeing both of his parents shot to death in a random murder. For instance, in Batman: The Knight #8, Bruce seeks the advice of Doctor Daniel Captio to learn how to reinforce his mind against...

Variety reports that many Warner Bros. employees have shown their support for Hamada and believe he has been treated unfairly ever since taking the helm of DC Films. They stated that after Justice League star Ray Fisher publicly accused the executive of hindering an inquiry into misconduct charges connected to "reshoots on" Justice League that were directed by Joss Whedon, Hamada "had to endure death threats."  The employees felt that Warner Bros. could have done more to defend Hamada during the time of allegations and feel that it was unjust that fans of the Snyder-verse singled him out be...

DC is planning major changes to become more like Marvel Studio

Image
According to reports, DC is planning major changes to become more like Marvel Studios. Warner Bros. appears to be at least beginning to show hints of being on the right road with its DC franchises. In recent years, the studio's super-powered attempts on the big and small screens have been the brunt of numerous jokes; but, the tide is turning. More recent DC adaptations, such as The Batman, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker, have all received mainly excellent reviews, indicating that things may be going brighter. And if this upward trend continues, DCEU supporters may finally have something to look forward to. Audiences were subjected to mediocre production under the direction of filmmakers like David Ayer and Zack Snyder, an output that Warner Bros. is trying hard to alter. In the past, Warner has tried to emulate Marvel Studios as closely as possible, establishing a common world of heroes that leads to collaboration projects. However, the studio did not take the time to flesh out ...
