Fortunately, Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman is aware of the situation and has a hopeful Spider-Man 4 update in the works. When asked about the Spider-Man franchise's future, Rothman stated that he hopes work on a fourth picture begins as soon as possible. Even better, he expressed optimism that the entire cast of the franchise, including Tom Holland, will return. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Sam Raimi returns to the Marvel universe, but he won't be tackling Spider-Man again - at least not without Tobey Maguire. Starting with Spider-Man in 2002, Raimi and Maguire collaborated on Sony's initial Spider-Man trilogy, reuniting for Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007.
