Kevin Feige Was Significantly Affected by Joaquin Phoenix's Rejection of the Doctor Strange Role

Image
Over time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's talent pool has expanded tremendously. Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Robert Downey Jr. were the stars of the Infinity Saga, while newcomers Simu Liu, Hailee Steinfeld, and Iman Vellani will likely take the lead in Phase 4. Joaquin Phoenix is one of several other renowned actors who came close to joining the interwoven superhero franchise before opting out. Phoenix's involvement apparently began back in July 2014 at San Diego Comic-Con, when the actor reportedly began negotiations to play Doctor Strange. Marvel's 'Unique' Situation with Joaquin Phoenix Joaquin Phoenix is said to have been in discussions with Marvel Studios before Benedict Cumberbatch was cast as Doctor Strange. The Joker actor earlier discussed the discussions that took place in an interview, claiming that "all sides were satisfied": "I think they make some terrific, fun movies. Nothing is wrong... I don't really consider myself a c...

Disney+ Reveals the Historic Movie rating for Doctor Strange 2

Image
In the Multiverse of Madness , Doctor Strange's intensity was unlike anything else. The Sam Raimi-directed film nailed all the frightening notes, despite the MCU not having really delved into horror until to that time. It was intense to watch Stephen Strange take control of his deceased body during the full last battle at Wundagore and battle the Scarlet Witch with high-pitched, cursed spirits squealing throughout. Many people were shocked that the film managed to go into theaters without the more restrictive rating of "R". It managed to be one of the most violent Marvel Studios productions to date, in addition to having stronger horror imagery. For instance, Black Bolt's head plainly showed the concave scoop after his brain blew out, causing him to cave in. Even Iman Vellani of Ms. Marvel complained that Sam Raimi "did [Black Bolt] filthy" in the scene. The passing of the Royal Inhuman now seems to have contributed to Multiverse of Madness breaking a Disney...

Doctor Strange 2 Writer Discusses Nightmare's Role In Original Script

Image
After a disturbing development, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is finally in cinemas and making an influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The sequel, which arrived in cinemas a year after its scheduled release date, offered a Multiversal epic that was radically different from what Marvel Studios had in mind. Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson quit the post for Doctor Strange 2, and Marvel finally brought in Spider-Man trilogy filmmaker Sam Raimi to fill the position. Then came the global pandemic, which pushed the film's release date and forced Marvel to adjust several of its story aspects as well as its place in the Phase 4 chronology. One of the most significant developments occurred in the villain category, with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch following a darker route than anybody thought by becoming Doctor Strange 2's major nemesis. Following the film's theatrical premiere, the film's chief writer commented on a character that was origin...

Marvel Confirmed Next Villian after Thanos

Image
No villain was more prominent than Josh Brolin's Thanos throughout the first 11 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes the 23 films known as the Infinity Saga. The Mad Titan, who appeared in five of the films, became the villain of all villains as he unleashed hell on Earth and every other world in the universe. Slaughter Lords (Earth-616) In 2018's Avengers: Infinity War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame, Brolin played Thanos, who gathered the six Infinity Stones and used them to wipe out half of the universe's inhabitants before attempting to wipe out the entire population. Even after Iron Man and the Avengers vanquished him and his army, his influence continues to loom over the MCU and its future as Phase 4 unfolds. After Thanos died at the end of Phase 3, the big question today is who will take his place as the MCU's main villain. Looking ahead to what could be the next major challenge, one of the MCU's best screenwriters has offered his predictio...

Image
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opened to great acclaim in theatres this week, giving fans the opportunity to see all of the cameos hinted in the film's teaser trailers and posters. While many of them were pleased to see figures like Sir Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier return, others had high hopes, hoping to see Hollywood icon Tom Cruise, who was reported to be playing a variation of Tony Stark aka Iron Man. Many "leaks" in the months preceding up to the release suggested that the actor will appear in the Doctor Strange sequel to reprise the role that he was offered by Marvel a few decades before it was handed to Robert Downey Jr. The majority of these reports stated that Cruise would play the Superior version, who would also be an Illuminati member. 'There's Still a Long Way to Go,' Tom Hiddleston Says of Loki's Bisexuality. For the past few months, neither Marvel nor the actor has mentioned Superior Iron Man's likely presence in th...

Elizabeth Olsen Reveals how does it feel when someone criticizes marvel

Image
Elizabeth Olsen admits she only gets "a little furious" when people criticise Marvel movies. While no one should feel sorry for a studio that is raking in billions in box office receipts, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has recently attracted a slew of high-profile critics, including directors Martin Scorsese, Denis Villeneuve, and Jane Campion, who have all essentially laid the death of cinema at its feet.Olsen, who has starred in a slew of Marvel films since 2015, including the current " Doctor Strange " sequel, understands the criticism, but she's also pushing back against people who make superhero movies "look like a lower form of art." "I'm not suggesting we're doing indie art films," she stated in a new interview with The Independent, "but I simply believe it takes away from our staff, which irritates me." "These are some of the most incredible set designers, costume designers, and camera operators, and I feel like...

Why Doctor Strange 2 got the second-worst audience Score of any MCU film

Image
While Marvel is accustomed for generating anticipation with their film marketing, Multiverse of Madness may have over-promised. Courtesy: Marvel Studio Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness debuted this weekend as another Marvel paradox of a film that doesn't quite reach the heights in terms of industry ratings, but is on track to become the year's biggest film by a wide margin, with a $200 opening weekend box office. Despite conflicting reviews from critics, the latest Doctor Strange adventure has received the second-lowest CinemaScore of the MCU films to yet. Doctor Strange, Wong, Wanda Maximoff, and America Chavez have taken audiences on a mind-bending journey through the multiverse, and while the interconnected film is wowed audiences and racing towards a huge opening weekend box office, it has received a B+ CinemaScore, which is tied with Thor and just beats out Eternals, which received a B. Elizabeth Olsen Discusses her Future in MCU

Image
Elizabeth Olsen said in 2015 that her favourite Scarlet Witch story is "House of M," and that it would be "unbelievable" if the character could have "two phoney babies and everyone told her they don't exist." Seven years later, Wanda Maximoff's narrative in Phase 4 begins with WandaVision and ends with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with this exact idea. Courtesy:Marvel Although the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, appears to be the villain in Multiverse of Madness, other advertising materials depict Wanda collaborating with Wong. Who are Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Image
Marvel Studios appears to be trying to outdo themselves with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Spider-Man: No Way Home was a significant departure in the MCU because it was the first film in the franchise to include the concept of a multiverse. Courtesy:Marvel But Sam Raimi's Multiverse of Madness , in which Benedict Cumberbatch reprises his role as the titular character, goes far further. Characters in the film travel to several realities in the MCU multiverse to combat a new enemy that threatens all of reality. While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduces a slew of new characters, relics, and comic book events, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's take of the Illuminati is undeniably superior. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is based on a Marvel Comics group of the same name and involves a live-action rendition of a secret society of heroes that act behind humanity's back to decide the fate of the world. The Illuminati brings together som...

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Movie Review

Image
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness there's plenty of CGI-heavy action to love, but the picture doesn't seem essential watching for anyone other than die-hard Marvel fans for a while. Following on from the events of WandaVision and the Disney+ television series What If...?, it's difficult to see why it wasn't also a Disney Plus television series. However, the film gradually becomes stranger, sillier, more emotional, and inventive, with more ludicrous jokes and yet more gruesome shocks. To put it another way, it becomes clear that it is directed by Sam Raimi. Michael Waldron, the screenplay, deserves credit for weaving together an enormously convoluted yet fairly understandable dimension-jumping plot.He has given McAdams and Wong far more to do in this film than they did in the previous Doctor Strange film, and he has inserted many significant surprises that the studio has managed to keep hidden. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, on the other hand, ...
