GoT's Lena Headey Sued Over Cut Thor: Love and Thunder Role
Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey is being sued for $1.5 million by her former UK agency, Troika, for a variety of unpaid commission fees. These costs cover Thor: Love and Thunder, a movie in which Headey was cast but whose producers ultimately decided to delete her scenes. According to Troika, now known as YMU, Headey expressly owes them at least $500,000 for the movie Love and Thunder. Variety has revealed that she did indeed play a part in the original script written by director Taika Waititi, despite the fact that her inclusion in the Marvel Studios summer blockbuster was never promoted or formally announced. That position's specifics are still unknown.
Numerous A-List actors were eliminated from Thor 4's final edit, including Headey's role.
Christian Bale said that Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic World: Dominion and Game of Thrones co-star Peter Dinklage were cut from the fourquel.
“I got to work with Peter Dinklage, that’s not in the final film, but I got to work with him,” Bale added. “He’s fantastic. I got to work with Jeff Goldblum, he’s not in the final film either. As you see lots of stuff ends up on the cutting room floor, even though it is beautiful, brilliant stuff.”
From 2005 to 2020, Headey worked at the aforementioned agency. Headey no longer works for the agency, but according to Troika/YMU, she is still owed commission payments for films including Thor 4, 9 Bullets, and Rita. In the critically panned theatrical movie 9 Bullets, Headey costarred with Sam Worthington. Rita also didn't accomplish anything significant because the Showtime series just had a single pilot episode. According to the agency, Headey owes them $300,000 and $650,000 for Rita and 9 Bullets, respectively. In addition to the commission fees, Troika/YMU are requesting that Headey be ordered to pay those amounts, as well as damages for contract breach, interest, and legal fee reimbursement.

Headey has refuted the allegations, claiming that neither she nor Michael Duff, the agency's co-founder, ever had a contract with Troika/YMU. Additionally, Duff served as Headey's personal agent. Headey additionally asserted that her business relationship with Duff was merely a verbal understanding.

The former Cersei Lannister notably disputed Troika/claim YMU's to the commission for Thor: Love and Thunder because she had been given that chance by Waititi. Additionally, Headey asserts that Duff and her agency were not involved in the negotiations for 9 Bullets. Regarding Rita, Headey claims that she has already given Troika/YMU $22,750 of her $325,000 profit from the one episode the series had.
Variety contacted Headey and Marvel representatives but they had not responded by the time the article was published. By the time of publication, neither Troika nor YMU, nor the agency's attorneys, nor Headey herself, had responded.
