Nonetheless, HBO Max had two of the top three launches in Q1, with the "Suicide Squad" series " Peacemaker" and the pirate comedy " Our Flag Means Death " receiving 30.8 and 29 times the average demand of all other series in the United States, respectively.
"Moon Knight" and "Peacemaker" were immediately popular, according to the data, while "Our Flag Means Death" gained in popularity throughout the first month. Since its season finale on March 24, the Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby-led show has retained its popularity.
"Our Flag Means Death" had a higher post-season demand than "Peacemaker" and "Moon Knight," but the show grew in popularity due to strong word of mouth, particularly among LGBTQ people. "Peacemaker" and "Moon Knight," both based on strong IP (DC Comics and Marvel, respectively), began with large audiences and maintained great demand, but they didn't achieve the same degree of consistency as "Our Flag Means Death."

Peacock's " Bel-Air" is also in the top 10, as one of the streamer's most popular original series and a top contributor to subscriber growth in the most recent quarter, according to parent company Comcast. The drama, a reworking of Will Smith's famous sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," is the type of high customer acquisition programming that Peacock requires as it scales its platform.
Netflix has two shows in the top ten - Shonda Rhimes' " Inventing Anna" and the South Korean thriller " All of Us Are Dead" - but their numbers are down from previous quarters. Netflix is finding a more difficult situation to compete in as competition grows and subscriber focus shifts to other programming.Netflix is finding it more difficult to thrive in a crowded field as competition grows and other series capture user attention. Finding international originals that can reach a global audience, such as "All of Us Are Dead," and programs that can create a cultural zeitgeist, such as "Inventing Anna," becomes even more important.

"Halo," a major franchise entry from Paramount+, rounds out the top 10. The success of the series, which is based on the bestselling video game of the same name, emphasizes the value of owning and solely housing top IP from the gaming, comics, and book industries. "Halo" has the potential to become a top subscriber acquisition title, something that Paramount+, like NBCUniversal's Peacock, needs to fight against Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max.
