Thor: Love and Thunder Becomes Least-Rated Thor Film on Rotten Tomatoes
More than any other MCU franchise, the Thor one is characterised by ups and downs. Thor's sequel, Thor: The Dark World, fared considerably worse than its predecessor, failing to meet up to the standards of its MCU rivals, marking a new low for the franchise.
The third movie in the series, Thor: Ragnarok, was directed by Taika Waititi, who brought fresh hope to the franchise with his special blend of humour and imagination.

Fans anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder, Waititi's second MCU picture, to be on par with or even better than that. However, following its publication, many people felt let down by the sequel due to what they perceived as a lack of tone balance and a waste of characters and plotlines. The movie has suffered as a result, both critically and commercially.
Thor: Love and Thunder has already broken a new record for the franchise, and not in a positive manner, despite having been out for less than a month.
Love and Thunder Ranks Last Among Thor Films
Thor: Love and Thunder has the lowest critic rating of any Thor movie on Rotten Tomatoes as of right now, with a Tomatometer score of 65 percent. Love and Thunder had a 65 percent approval rating from critics, which is a little lower than Thor: The Dark World's 66 percent.
both rated significantly higher, garnering a 77 percent and a 93 percent, respectively, for Thor: Ragnarok. The audience ratings, however, present a different picture, with Love and Thunder placing ahead of Thor 1 and Thor 2 with a score of 77%, albeit by a few points.
Thor: Love and Thunder's New Position in the Franchise: An Analysis
Even if this score appears to be a death sentence for the movie, it's crucial to understand how the crucial Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes actually functions. The food-based fresh test actually displays what percentage of reviews were judged positively rather than giving an average of critic ratings. Therefore, even if only 65% of the reviews for Love and Thunder were favourable, its actual average rating may be a little higher.
Interesting to note is that opinions on the movie seem to vary among viewers. Although they still rated Love and Thunder somewhat higher than Thor and The Dark World, it moved up to number two in the rankings because of this.
Though it's uncertain how Thor's future in the MCU would be impacted by these poor scores, it is feasible that they could put an end to the chance of a Thor 5. No news of a sequel has been announced for Eternals, which experienced a similar Rotten Tomatoes destiny and became the first Marvel movie to receive a bad score. Another indication that things aren't looking good is that the prospective nemesis hinted to in one of Thor 4's end credit scenes is also sceptical of the franchise's future.

The Thor story, however, stands to benefit the most from beating the odds and securing a sequel because the God of Thunder has previously persevered through negative reviews to triumph. Let's hope he can pull it off once more.
