It’s Morbin’ Time: Morbius actually became Netflix’s No. 1 streamed movie

Morbius

How was Netflix's Morbius No. 1? Should it have been? It makes sense, believe it or not.

Let's be upfront and honest. Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters suffered another significant setback with Morbius. The film did poorly at the box office, but it still made its money back. It's hardly surprising given that it's a comic book movie. For a comic book movie to lose money, it would have to be among the worst ever made. One of the lowest rated comic book movies ever, Dark Phoenix nonetheless made its money back.

Due to a meme, Sony attempted a theatre re-release. a meme that ironically made fun of the film. Sadly, they believed that people genuinely wanted to see it. Not only was that a blunder, but the film also debuted to disastrous reviews. IGN stated that it only made $289 per theatre out of the 1,037 locations where it was presented. "

Despite all the criticism, the film unexpectedly became the top movie on Netflix after its unexpected release. It not only entered the Top 10, but also reached the top spot.

Why did Morbius rank First?

For various factors, Morbius was ranked first. Curiosity was the first, and maybe the main, factor in the high streaming statistics. Some folks skipped the theatres to avoid it. It's possible that the trailers weren't compelling enough to draw individuals from their homes. Curiosity can be satisfied now that Netflix offers it for free.

The second aspect was that it made its debut in the midst of a pandemic. There were no additional anticipated films that moviegoers went to watch. It's possible that they did not want to take any unnecessary chances to see a movie that was not receiving favourable reviews. Why not try it now that you can view it in a secure environment? especially if you were looking forward to seeing it.

The real cause is probably the last one. People clicked on it to find out whether the reviews were accurate or whether it was "so awful it's good." The Sharknado series made it trendy to watch lousy movies. The Sharknado filmmaking team understood why audiences enjoyed the films because they were terrible. They were so beautifully terrible. It explains why the series kept becoming more fantastical as it continued. The Fast and the Furious movies fall under the same category. Morbius wasn't supposed to be a horrible movie, which is unfortunate. Just so happened to be terrible.

Following the premiere of the Netflix original film End of the Road, Morbius fell from No. 1 to No. 2. Not at all much of a decline. In fact, it won't come as a surprise if it reclaims first place. It might have been more enjoyable the second time around for viewers who watched it the first time. That will encourage people to suggest it to others who are debating it. Then there are those who will insist that you see how serious the situation is. That will result in more views as well. In either case, Morbin' Time has found a following on Netflix. If you haven't tried it yet, now is an excellent time.
