Elizabeth Olsen Discusses her Future in MCU
Elizabeth Olsen said in 2015 that her favourite Scarlet Witch story is "House of M," and that it would be "unbelievable" if the character could have "two phoney babies and everyone told her they don't exist." Seven years later, Wanda Maximoff's narrative in Phase 4 begins with WandaVision and ends with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with this exact idea.

Although the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, appears to be the villain in Multiverse of Madness, other advertising materials depict Wanda collaborating with Wong. While Wanda's loyalty remains a mystery, it is evident that the former Avenger will play a significant part in the sequel. However, it is unclear whether the Scarlet Witch will return after Multiverse of Madness. Olsen has now responded to this in a new interview.
Elizabeth Olsen Discusses Her Marvel Cinematic Universe Future
Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff, spoke with Extra about her character's path and where she wants to see her character go next.
"We got to do so much with the character, so much with the tale," Olsen said, "and I just wanted to make sure that we continued the progression into this picture and to perform things that our fans or the audience haven't seen her do yet."
After mentioning the character's "eight-year journey," Olsen added that she hopes the sequel would "teeter off into something wonderful."
Olsen then spoke on the ending of Multiverse of Madness, which left Wanda's MCU survival and future uncertain. Olsen teased about it ""There are a couple of different versions of what could happen with the Scarlet Witch moving forward," she says, adding that she'd like to hear from fans about where they want to see the character next: "There are a couple of different versions of what could happen at the end of this film." I'm mostly interested in hearing from her biggest supporters about what they want to see her do next."

In addition, the Marvel actress spoke with Harper's Bazaar on her plans for the MCU after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Olsen began by praising her Doctor Strange co-star Benedict Cumberbatch, calling him "one of the best actors working today." She also wants to "work with him in a non-Marvel fashion," according to the MCU veteran.
"I'm a huge fan of his work. I wanted to witness his process because he's one of the best performers working right now. I'd like to work with him outside of Marvel because I'd like to have a different, more heady experience with him."
"Wanda's always around the corner," Olsen teased about the Scarlet Witch's future.
"I don't mind saying goodbye to Wanda since I assume she's always around the corner."
Wanda's tale will not finish in the Doctor Strange sequel, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who stated in June 2021 that "that's the first location where that story will continue but there will be other places."
Wanda Maximoff's Next Steps
This section includes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness spoilers.
Wanda's apparent death after bringing down the temple of Chthon in Wundagore was shown towards the end of Multiverse of Madness, with her being lost in the ruins.Although it is questionable whether the character's death will be upheld, Wanda's popularity must be considered. Elizabeth Olsen's recent statements could potentially hint at more for the character in the future.
No one is truly dead in superhero movies, especially if no dead body is discovered or depicted on screen. There's a good likelihood Wanda is still alive somewhere, possibly hiding again, based on the ending of the sequel. Wanda's kill count in the sequel is likewise outrageous, raising the issue of whether she will be redeemed at some point in the future.

It's safe to anticipate that the Scarlet Witch will be the subject of further stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. Wanda will almost certainly be engaged in the introduction of mutants on Earth-616, especially after Olsen expressed her goal to introduce an iconic X-Men line to the MCU.
The possibilities for the Scarlet Witch are endless, from a speculated standalone film to a possible presence in other MCU projects, and as Kevin Feige emphasised, Multiverse of Madness is just the beginning.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is presently in theatres all over the world.
