'Black Panther 2': Daniel Kaluuya confirms he won’t return for 'Wakanda Forever'
Daniel Kaluuya reveals that due to scheduling conflicts, he was unable to film Black Panther 2, and thus will not reprise his role as W'Kabi.
Daniel Kaluuya will not be reprising his role as Black Panther in Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever. Previously, it was assumed that Kaluuya would reprise his role as W'Kabi from the first Black Panther film. Leticia Wright, Martin Freeman, Lupita Nyong'o, and Danai Gurira are rumoured to return for the sequel to Black Panther.
Now, Rotten Tomatoes awards editor Jacqueline Coley has revealed that Kaluuya will not reprise his role as W'Kabi in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Coley revealed that in an interview, Kaluuya stated that he would not be returning to Black Panther.

Kaluuya explained that he couldn't play W'Kabi in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever due to scheduling conflicts with Nope. Take a look at the tweet below:
BREAKING NEWS: Fresh from my NOPE interview with Daniel Kaluuya he did not reprise his role in #BlackPanther2 due to his schedule conflicts w/ #NOPE!

It's official he's not in #BlackPantherWakandaForever
This is certainly disappointing news, given W'Kabi's importance in Black Panther. However, Kaluuya's decision to pursue Nope over the Black Panther sequel makes perfect sense. Kaluuya has previously praised Nope director Jordan Peele, crediting him with restoring his faith in acting. Given the importance of Peele's Get Out to Kaluuya's career, the actor's commitment to the Peele project makes sense. When Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theatres this fall, it will be interesting to see how or if W'Kabi's absence is addressed.
