'We're Both Gods of Thunders'- Zachary Levi Teases a Marvel-DC Crossover as He Calls Out Chris Hemsworth's Thor to a Battle

At the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, Zachary Levi teases a significant Marvel-DC crossover while discussing his thoughts on facing Chris Hemsworth's one and only Thor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Henry Cavill was unable to be found at SDCC 22, despite everyone's excitement over the reports of his and Superman's unexpected entrance. But putting that aside, the Shazam star reveals another intriguing fact: he desires to battle MCU's Thor.

We proceed to view a fresh trailer for Shazam!, the follow-up to the 2019 DC movie smash. As everyone enjoyed the first film and is eager for the sequel, Fury of the Gods and the trailer attracted a lot of attention from the public and generated a lot of positive buzz among DC fans online.

When asked which superhero Shazam would like to face off against during an interview at SDCC 22, Zachary Levi replied that he would prefer to face the Marvel Norse God of Thunder. This made the SDCC 22 more intriguing for DC. Everyone, including the reporter, had anticipated that he would mention a character from his own superhero universe, but the actor had a different idea and said that he wanted to go up against Thor:

"If I could fight somebody like cross into like Marvel or something like that, I would go fight Thor. I think that'd be fun because we're both like Gods of Thunder you know Gods of lightning you know what I mean and Chris Hemsworth would be kind of fun"

So this Shazam! interview! The actor teased a wave of excitement among both fandoms, as there would be few fans who did not wish to see a DC-Marvel crossover on the big screen someday. It is also worth noting that Zachary Levi portrayed Fandral of the Warriors Three in the MCU films of Thor, who was one of the Asgardian God's closest allies.

What happens with Shazam vs. Superman?

Even if Zachary Levi wants his character to face off against Thor, the Superman return rumours had a significant impact on all SDCC attendees, and nobody stopped questioning the actors about it. In a similar vein, but while the Shazam 2 actors were seated to answer questions, it was asked whether Superman and Shazam would engage in a showdown. He cleverly responded:

"I can neither confirm nor deny allegations such as these, these are not questions you're allowed to ask me on this stage right now. But no." He winked at the fan and gave him a mocking look.

Consequently, we remain in the dark regarding any potential return of Henry Cavill's superhero persona on the silver screen, but we can see Billy Batson and his family in action in the upcoming Shazam! The Gods' fury.

Shazam! On December 21, 2022, Fury of the Gods will be released in theatres.
