History of Wolverine and Deadpool in Film
Jackman played Wolverine for the first time in the 2000 film X-Men, and he then appeared in X2 (2003) and X-Men: Last Stand (2006). X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013), and, the latter of which is frequently recognised as one of the best superhero films of all time, were all made as a result of his fame as the character. Jackman played a key role in the acclaimed X-Men: Days of Future Past and appeared in the prequel trilogy's X-Men: First Class (2011) and X-Men: Apocolypse (2016). (2014). Reynolds even made a quick cameo appearance at the conclusion of Deadpool 2 in 2018, when the movie's hero travels back in time to murder the wildly-lambasted version of himself from X-Men Origins.

Before the 2009 movie's premiere, fans were ecstatic about Reynolds' hiring since they thought the actor was ideal for the part. Those who hoped to see the legendary character on film, however, were incensed by the writing on the character, particularly the loss of his mouth at the end - something Reynolds laughed about on Twitter when posting the Wolverine news. Deadpool (2016), which won a tonne of praise from critics and fans for sticking faithful to the character's violent and comedic comics, saw the character make a triumphant comeback.

As it had been four years since the second Deadpool movie with little information on the third one, some fans were worried about the project's length. The Deadpool script's creation, according to writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, was like writing a "comfy old sweater," and Disney and Marvel had supported them in their efforts to "keep the tone and the vision" they had for the third movie. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, affirmed that the third movie would keep the series' R rating in order to be faithful to the character, dispelling the worries of fans.
On September 6, 2024, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's Deadpool 3 will be released in theatres.
