‘Avengers’ Director Wants Captain America Star Chris Evans As Wolverine

Chris Evans as Captain America

Directors of Avengers: Endgame Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, has collaborated with Joe and Anthony Russo numerous times over the course of their MCU tenure. Evans rapidly proved to be the ideal fit for the stiff-necked Steve Rogers, but the Russo Brothers think Evans could have pulled off another Marvel character, none other than. When asked by Comicbook.com which role they thought Evans might do well in if he returned for some multiversal mayhem, Joe Russo responded right away...

"Wolverine."

Joe continued to laud Evans as a performer and explain to those of us who are unsure why he believes the Captain America actor could have nailed playing the fan-favorite member of the

"Evans has incredible range and great physicality, and he's real good at body control. He's an incredible actor. I don't mean this in a bad way, but he's nothing like Captain America. Steve Rogers is very controlled and quiet, understated. Chris is energetic and funny and charismatic, and he brings a lot of energy to set. I'd love to see him do something like Wolverine."

Fans have various suggestions for Wolverine's on-screen replacement, including Scott Eastwood, Jared Keeso, and Danny DeVito, of course.
