Thor's friends will not be limited to Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder, as the film's latest poster indicates the return of another old buddy.

A closer look at the picture, published by Marvel Studios, reveals Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Jaimie Alexander's name among the cast members, revealing that her character Lady Sif will return in the God of Thunder sequel.Alexander's return to the role of Sif was initially confirmed in December 2020, with the article stating that she will play the character not only in Love and Thunder, but also in the Disney+ series Loki. Alexander would then post a photo of herself getting ready to go to Australia to begin production on Love and Thunder in early 2021, then hint in an Instagram story that she would return as Sif, adding, "The woman has returned... and she is here to stay."

Prior to this, the poster announced that main actor Chris Hemsworth will also serve as executive producer on Love and Thunder.Hemsworth is not the only MCU actor to take on this job; his Avengers franchise co-star Scarlett Johansson also served as EP on her picture Black Widow.

Aside from the return of Sif, Natalie Portman's Jane Foster will play the Mighty Thor, with director and co-writer Taika Waititi noting that the film would stay true to Jane's tale from the original comics. Waititi himself indicated that Jane's new persona might not be permanent when he said, "I believe many people would assume, 'Oh, OK, this is the passing of the torch,'... I'm not privy to Marvel's future intentions, but I don't believe that's the case."

The Guardians of the Galaxy, who, like Thor, were last seen in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, will also be included in Love and Thunder. "I enjoy working with Chris Hemsworth," Peter Quill/Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt said of reconnecting with the Thor star. "In real life, he is comparable to Thor. He's the kindest guy ever. Super-funny. He works quite hard. It was fantastic. I had a great time filming [Thor: Love and Thunder]. I'm very thankful they took us along. It was amazing to see him bring this to Australia and shoot it there with all of his fellow Australians. And with the eccentric director Taika Waititi. His fashion sense is one-of-a-kind."
